This fact sets thermotec insulation material apart, as recyclate samples clearly reveal that almost all products available on the market are more or less exposed to HBCD. 80 per cent of the samples tested exceeded the limit value many times over. This is despite the fact that HBCD has been subject to a Europe-wide ban for years on account of its harmful effects on health.
Ensuring that our own products are free from harmful substances is our top priority. This is why we have been producing only newly foamed polystyrene balls for some time now. Our thermotec insulation can also be recycled one hundred per cent and easily reused as insulation material! The polystyrene beads can be completely separated from our binding agent and reused. Naturally free of harmful substances!
